Another Whirl for Another Year

Okay, so... taking another whack at this, hopefully I'll be able to keep on track with posting my Post. ;)

First up, some crafts from the past, followed by a few things I've sent out this week:

Trinket Birthday Box Of Curiosities

(I created this box for a friend's B-Day. It included many treasures from my nature walks, & some cool barnacles sent from a penpal by the sea. <3

Frida in Turquoise Envie

Sent this Months ago actually, spent a lot of time with colored pencils that afternoon

Arctic Wolf ATC Swap

Via Swap-bot, mini Arctic wolf Portrait. Once again, I used colored pencils.

Mermaid Art Paper Doll Swap

Via Swap-bot, sent to Ann Tabor. All done in Colored Pencil, I love how the tail turned out & I thought the face was very Liv Tyler-ish, yeah?
And the Envie, I went all out on this one.

Ooh, & a few things I got in the mail this week:

Arctic Wolf ATC Swap

This was the beauty I rec'ved from the swap, created by Sakubik with watercolors & gel pen. Lovely, although wolves don't have blue eyes so technically it's a gorgeous ATC of a husky, LoL. :)

Mermaid Paper Doll Swap

My return swap merm from Swap-bot, created by Valreinking. Love that glittery tail, I've got to scope more Scrapbook papers I think.

Cute Mail Art from Canada! With cute Papers!

March Mail-stash Madness

Hey There, I've just returned from a two-week travel adventure and I realized that I didn't get the last of my March mail posted before heading out. So here it all is (A few days late, yes) but without further ado....

Belly dancer Mail! Sent across the seas to Alison Claire, a fellow dancer. (Note: if anyone is curious, the dancer featured on the envie is Rachel Bryce, a super talented Tribal-style dancer)

A package full of ephemera, sent to out Cynthia Couch of Swap-bot for an ephemera swap.

Same swap, this one sent to my other swap partner Sherry Collier.

Various Mail shtuffs- a p-c made from a found photograph that had been double-exposed. And letters to my penpals Mattew Harris& Lynn Riordan (hers has a front/back close-up  below)

Like the photograph, this film strip I used on the back had been found, yay for back alley trashcans and dumpsters!

This was the cover of a birthday surprise package sent out to my sister Sara.

Back of a Witchy envie sent to a magical swap-bot swapper.

This is a red panda illustration that I drew. It became a postcard, also for my sister Sara. :)

Okay that's all for now. maybe more later today as I did get a little mail sent out during my trip. But essentially that's what my 'out-mail' mailbox looked like recently.

Making The Post go Hum.....March 3, 2013

Okey Dokey- It's been a bit longer than I'd expected since my last post, but still less than a month so I seem to be making some progress, yippee! It hasn't been the most productive few weeks, but I figure it can take a bit to gather steam during the winter. :)

Sent out into the World:

Hand-illustrated envelope sent to my penpal Caroline in France. (Please Note: although the original illustration isn't mine, it couldn't fit on the envie so I just eye-balled it & drew it directly on there myself, then colored it in w/ colored pencil. I think it turned out well....)

A mystical-themed envie sent to my penfriend Luke. The snake-womyn is Lilith, who is
A sweet Nature-theme envie for my penpal/bestie Ali, who is quite outdoorsy.

Three packages sent out last week. The top package was for my 3- yr old niece, hence the cutesy nature of it. Both of the bottom packages were created for Swap-bot fantasy-theme, and of course I chose sealife/mermaid (my new fantastical obsession)

Front & Back of yet another sea life envie. Vintage National Geographics are officially the best source of fine collages, I've decided!
And the envie innards. I glued my letter sheets to the back of these scientific pages of tiny sea-life to use as stationery. :)

Received from the world:

Admittedly, not the best haul of my life, but I still received 3 good letters and two postcards- so I certainly can't complain.   :)

The envie in the upper right is from my penpal Lynn, who always sends letters with w/ the nicest assortment of vintage postage stamps. :) The airmail envie arrived from Christina Fernandez all the way from Spain!

And this lovely, proper little "Black Byrony" fairy arrived from Alison-Claire of England. When I was a young grrrl I had a modest collection of Cicely Mary Barker's fairy illustrations just like this, & it was really lovely to find a fairy from my childhood awaiting me in the mail box. <3

A Fresh start for the year of the Snake

Hi there, happy Chinese New Year! After a severely prolonged hiatus, I'm determined to get back on top of my correspondence and start posting again.... So, here's a bunch of mail that I've sent out over the past few months--- Starting with late summer all the way to what I finished up today! Enjoy, and keep checking back, I'm excited to begin sharing again!

Front & Back of a Letter sent to my penfriend Luke. I like the way the front turned out especially, it kind of looks like a natural sciences book.

The back of an envie sent to my penpal Jona. I was inspired to draw this by my love of dancing, water, and the literary works of Walt Whitman. Based on the his wonderful quote "Do I contradict myself? Very well, then I contradict myself, I am large, I contain multitudes." Beautiful and simple, isn't it?

Front & Back of an envie created for a longtime penpal. As per usual, numerous animals and nature clips were used for the making of this collage. ;)

A Birthday card created for a friend of mine who also happens to be a babe. ;)

A rather proper little envie Created for Caitlyn park.

 Pollination-inspired theme for this envie.

Owlettes & Roses for Sophie Bee.

I'm fairly certain I didn't post this before. Unfortunately, I can no longer remember who I sent it out to...

I didn't make this one, it was sent to me from my friend Shannon. But I love Humpback whales and I was incredibly charmed by it!

and FINALLY, some postal pieces sent out recently!

I love going to the post office with a good handful of mail to drop off, there is no greater sense of accomplishment I think. :)

Sent to a new penpal in France. You might notice the postage has been canceled- I actually crafted a plain cover for this envie (where I posted unused postal stamps!) for the international postal system to scratch up and destroy. :)

Mystical package sent out to my longest-running penpal, Meg Elias.

Front & Back of an envie for Taradactyl, a penpal whom I've been owing some quality mail to for quite some time. Excited to be X-changing mail again!

Another envie for my penpal Lynn!

Whewieeee.... Did I get behind or what?

I know it's been Quite a while since I last posted up on here, and my mailbox has surely been buzzing during that time so I'll just post half of what I have archived for now, and put up more later this week. :)

First, the Lovely surprises that I have received this past month:

This is officially one of my favorite pieces of Mail Art ever (nifty collages w/ Vintage Raccoons. <3)! Created by WreckThisGirl of Sendsomething.Net, it came all the way from Italy-- this puppy mysteriously took over a month to get to me!

Hand-printed Mail Art postcard, created by my friend Jona. She carved this blockprint depicting a list of herbs that are especially nourishing to a womyn's cycle.

Neat envie + lovely Pinecone print card from Ms. Brittany Ukulele

Front+ Back of a fun Asian-inspired Mail Art piece by Carolyn C.

Really Neat postcard sent from my friend Matt during his trip to Europe.

Zine + letter sent from Jamie of Sendsomething.

Back of a colorful envie sent from Sophie Bee, also of SendSomething.

And Now, some of the things that I've been dropping off at the Post Office Lately:

Front/Back of an eclectic collage envie sent to my friend Molly

Front/Back of a Mother's Day Letter sent to my dear Mommers. <3

"A pensive spring Morning with a View" Postcard sent to Paloma of Sendsomething.

Front/Back of an envie sent to Carolyn C. I especially like the shape that the two Hippo mouths make together. :)

Sent out Jamie (yes, also of Sendsomething). I can't seem to escape this theme of neat animals, floral designs, and lovely ladies in my collage art. :)
